The 4" Diamond Cutter Cups grind faster than conventional silicon carbide cutter cups. The Sintered Diamond Cutter Cups are aggressive without being harsh and accommodate spheres from 3-3/4" to 6-1/2". The Resin Bonded Diamond Cutter Cups provide better control and grind quickly. These are designed for finishing spheres. All cutter cups come with 3/4" National Pipe Thread.

Make beautiful gemstone spheres 1/4" to 1" in size, automatically. Has a dual 1/18 hp, 110 volt motor, with an automatic grit application, spring loaded cutting angle adjustment. The downward slanted cutter cups and shafts run the sphere in a bath of grit. This eliminated the need to constantly dab grit on with a brush. It also causes the grit slurry to run away from the bearings. The angle of the cutting cups can be increased as the rough corners of the sphere grind off. Both heads are spring loaded so continuous adjustment in unnecessary. Unit comes complete with 1 grind pan, instructions, guarantee, and one pair of 1/4", 3/8", 5/8", and 7/8" cups. Machine size 23" long x 14" wide x 10" high.

All independent floating heads for greater control, mounted on swivel base, spring loaded and fully adjustable. COOK SPHERE MACHINE

This machine is designed for re-finishing bowling balls but can be modified to be used on rock type materials. You can add more resistance between the motors and the sphere by adding a heavy duty type of a spring to apply more pressure against the sphere.

You may also have to switch from using the pads that come with the machine to using cups made from PVC pipe or metal pipe modified to be placed on the shaft of the motors.

Also, may need to switch from using the pads to using powdered abrasives with a water drip system instead of the water recycling system that comes with the machine.

If you do use the recycling system that comes with the machine, you may have to install a filtering system.

If used as is for bowling balls:

Adjustments " If there is unequal pressure on the motors the desired rotation will not be realized. To correct the pressure difference adjust the stainless steel carriage bolts found at the base of each motor mount. Be sure the lock nut is secure after making adjustments. A 9/16" wrench is required. " It is sometimes most effective to reverse the direction of rotation of one motor in order to achieve the random motion that does the best job. Warning: Be sure the machine is turned off before changing the reversing switch position!!
